CA FD revival project- headlights draining battery?

After the has been starting without issues, i decided to work on the headlight covers.
I left the headlights up over night and now the battery is dead. Before then i had the headlights down
Are they being kept up with the battery?
Are they actually draining?

(or could it be something else? in my search i found something about a possible room fuse issue, but that was 2nd gen)

The headlight motors should only use power when going up or going down. It is possible that it is stuck or something and not finishing the cycle of going up so the motor is still energized and running.

But, it's also possible it's just something else simple, like the glove box light, running lights, etc.

There are Youtube videos on finding what is draining your battery, basically you use a multimeter and pull fuses until you find the circuit that is causing the drain.

Generally the headlight motors do a good job. I would doubt that's your drain unless your headlights are jamming up, car was in a front end collision and things aren't straight, etc. If your headlights or running lights were on that would have drained the battery of course.

Dale you might be right about the motors no the headlights not completing their cycle
i left everything the same except this time lights were down, and batter didn't drain

if i use a volt meter will i be sing volts regardless or only when activated?(with car running)
or i guess i can stick to running them only when car is on
