Project Revival
SO, this is my build, corny title and all
Started off as a craigslist buy. Found this 10AE for sale with 170K on the engine with the intake disassembled. Bought it from the guy for $2500, with a spare engine (est. 7k original miles from the Mazda dealership) a spare trans and a spare drive shaft.
reassembled everything, car started up, but there was an exhaust leak. turns out to be the stud bolts are cracked off between the engine and the turbo mani. Ordered some new studs from the dealership, drilled and tapped the bolts then installed the new ones.
drained and refilled the coolant and (oh ****) coolant started running out of the left upper turbo mani bolt... we cracked through the coolant line in the rear rotor housing. Which is aluminum, so the only way to fix is a rebuild...
Which leads us here, and to my 13bt to 13bt swap! Ill update on the dayly
Planned mods:

Thanks guys but i really wish i didn't have to go through all this lol. it was supposed to be a quick remove and replace job with the studs. but 20y.o rust doesnt take to kindly to drills lol
Those are the studs and the one on the left is the one of the places where coolant was pouring out. it was worse on the other set
