Sorry dude, I just had to use those atleast once.

Seriously though, this has been discussed in great length, on several occassions. Of course when you mod your car 'extensively' you are sacrificing some amount of reliability. The more you drive your car (15k a year is alot) you are sacrificing reliability.

Take care of your car, do regular maintenance (monitor fluids etc carefully), do the mods right (i.e...dont slap full exhaust and FMIC without getting ECU and fuel pump), and spend money on a good tune and you should be good to go, for awhile anyway...

HEY NEWBIE READ THIS!

First off, I am glad to see you interesed in a 3rd Gen RX7. There are many things you need to learn before you start asking questions about it, and thats why I am here to help!

FIRST --

Learn to use the SEARCH function on the forums, instead of posting a question, chances are it has already been answered, so why sit and wait for replies to your thread when you can find all the info you need in less than 5 minutes? The SEARCH button is in the top right of the screen, here is a link to the search engine: CLICK HERE

SECOND --

There are TONS of good websites out on the web about RX7s, and will cover anything you want to know without having to ask here on the forums... First, go read this thread, it's a sticky at the top of the 3rd Gen Section, you should have clicked here first. But if not, CLICK HERE and it will take you to it. It has great links to awesome websites about RX7s with tons of useful info. here are the links that all future RX7 owners should check out before considering buying an RX7:
http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/
http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/index.html

Hope that I have helped a little, you will soon learn that the RX7, especially the 3rd gen, is a car that must be maintained religiously and they do cost a lot of money. if you are looking at this car because they are cheaper than most other high performance cars, i wouldnt get too excited you will end up paying much more for this car than just the purchase price. it truly is an amazing car and can be a very reliable and fun car if you know your stuff. Feel free to PM me or any other forum members with questions if you can't find what youre looking for, everyone here is always willing to help!

There are also a lot of ways to mod your car to make it more reliable than stock. (alum. ast, better cooling, single turbo conversion to eliminate all those vacuum lines and actuators, etc.)

Also in the process of moding your car, you really have no choice but to learn alot about rotaries. Not that I'm an expert, but I'm learning all the time. The more you understand, the better you'll be able to take care of your baby the way it deserves to be.

In reference to the search button.....
All you have to do is type REALIBLE & RELIABILITY and ALL of your questions will be answered

If you guys want to rant on him for not using the search function, at LEAST tell him what key words to use

um yeah.. if you take care of it and do the reliability mods you should not have to worry about 30-40k miles.. it'll be more like 90-100k

You have got to be kidding!
How can you say that when most likely NO one has driven a modified FD3S with T78 more than 30K let alone 90-100K?

hehehe, I don't think he would get very far searching for REALIBLE. I think you were trying to write RELIABLE, right?
