Basically to make a long story short, I let a friend drive my car(Yes I know this was a huge mistake) And he went to take off, even in a straight line, and it slid out and he got off the throttle, spun a 180 and popped a curb, rear end drivers side first, then tapped a brick wall with the front of the car. basically the visible damage was the fender is dented( not very bad) and front bumped scraped, ripped off my beautiful 99spec front lip. In the back the only really visible damage was the rim had a huge chunk out of it and the gas tank is now leaking a little. I put new wheels in the back and drive it, and it drives pretty good, it doesnt pull or anything and it feels pretty good in corners, ( havent taken any fast yet) and nothing seems to get overly hot like it is dragging or anything. I have apexi N1 coilovers and rx7.com toe links if that matters. I am looking for some input on possible damage and what to check for. It is going in for an alignment very soon.

If the gas tank is leaking then I wouldn't drive your car until you get that fixed.

An easy way to fix it is to keep the gas inside and start welding.

haha yea i know. it really doesnt leak that bad, and it did when i got the car but it is right under the strap, so i used some of that gas tank repair and it worked perfect untill this incident....

 

Jack her up and take a look at the underside. Most likely there are a few dents, possibly a bent oil pan that could leak in the future, maybe some scrapes on the exhaust. Definitely get an alignment. Also have your wheel bearings and suspension bushings checked out.

 

^+1 make sure if you have a fmic to check that and radiator to make sure none are leaking or busted up. Never let anyone drive your FD again unless you know FOR SURE they can handle it. All my friends want and beg me to drive my car because they think they can handle it but even in stock forms these cars can get away from you real easy... It's sad to say it but it's a lesson learned and thank God it seems that it's not busted up to bad. Did you make your friend pay for damages?
