Also here is a resource to help determine what pins(receptacles) you need for each connector. Scroll down to page 67 and you see the "hybrid" connectors have two diff size pins needed. Have sizes 040 and 070. http://www.te.com/commerce/DocumentD...ocLang=English

I just wanted to share a site that has been very helpful when it comes to finding and sourcing connectors. I just bought everything I need to build me engine harness from here except for a thermoswitch and IAC connector. Joe, the owner of the site/company helped me with anything I was unsure of and even helped me source things he didn't have. This site is a one stop source for new connectors, individually packaged with pins and seals.
Motorcycle Terminals, Connectors, and Wiring Accessories

The IAC connector is still unknown. It is definitely part of the Sumitomo MT .090 series but it's basically a unicorn. Motorcycle MT .090 - Connector and Terminals

First I would like to thank kclements for this awesome info, second I would like to see if anyone is interested in my ideas.

I currently have a contract with a local electrical/harness company here locally and i know i can get them to help me with making the harnesses for our car for less then what we are paying now. They already have all the tools to do the jobs, plus all of my employees to do the labor work. I saw some new engine harnesses going for $700 or so, my goal is to replace all of the harnesses in the RX7 for $1k, of course with enough interest or just the engine harness alone i can get it made for much less then $700. What do you guys think?

Great f-ing thread.

Could anyone help me figure out which connector(s) are on each end of the jumper harness that connects the fuel pump hanger to the rear chassis harness?

Thanks in advance!

Post a picture of the front side of it. Its a TE/AMP type connector and should be identifiable by the number of pins it has.

Has anyone found a source for the fan thermoswitch connector yet? JBF said he found them by don't link a source and can't be private messaged.
For anyone interested in a temporary solution on one, the male connector used in HID kits between the ballast and bulbs will fit the inside of the sensor and pin, it just won't seal against the outer o-ring

Just FYI, I've organized the data on sheet 1 and sourced all the parts. Should make anyone making a new harness easy to order:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz...zZGWWFkVE5DRDg

there are 2 sheets. first is general part numbers and where they are used. The second is a consolidation of duplicates so you know what part numbers to order and the total quantity.

Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I'm wanting to get rid of my crispy harness.

We have a limited supply of FD BAC connectors and water temp thermo switch connectors on hand. Both are available new, we're just trying to find a more consistent and less expensive source. We don't have them loaded on our site yet. PM for details.

I found a unicorn supplier! mind you the connector is green instead of white but it does work.

hmm couldn't edit the last post, but the connector I linked was for the Stock Idle valve.

just got them in today for a test fit, and it fits perfect!

If you want just a pigtail these can also be found in junkyards. Rear side marker lights on MX-3s have a nice long pigtail with this connector.

This information is totally awesome!

I'm confirming for the 26 pin ECU Plug Connector that has 2 sizes of Pins so we would need to order 16 x 173716 ECU Pins (20-22 AWG) (Alternate part number ) and 10 x 175027-1 of the larger pins (16-20AWG) per connector

Is that correct?

i am gonna bump this very useful thread

i am in the process of wiring a pdm in my car. I would like to maintain stock connectors where possible

Does anyone have the part numbers for the door connectors both left and right & male and female please. looking to redo everything without destroying my existing harness

along with this i am looking looking for the connector of the combination switch .

Ideally i would like to get the connectors so i can make a plug and play loom and still keep my harness "usable" with the option to switch back to the oem while i highly doubt it

PDM = power door motor?

I found a 90's Mazda in the junk yard that had the same connector on the door (the door harness to chassis harness) and cut it out. Pulled pins out of the used connector and used unused spots in the existing connector to add in the harness. Turned out clean and has been working solid for 10+ years.

Some of those funky chassis connectors you may not have much luck finding.

My shot from the hip guess is that looks very similar to a JAE or Sumitomo hybrid connector (hybrid meaning two pin sizes each for signal and power applications). Given that the Japanese OEMs love to use JAE and Sumitomo, especially in the mid 90's, I would spend some time looking through their catalog. Unfortunately, that might be a special connector only created and sold to the OEM; I work for an automotive tier 1 and see that all the time with connectors.

Thank you @DC5Daniel

Yes i am doing a power distribution module. Still a street car technically... but yes it is something you see in the motorsports industry.

https://www.aim-sportline.com/en/pro...dm08/index.htm

I managed to get one of these even though it is not technically released yet

would you happen to know the pins part number? Or did you reuse the existing ones? Thanks Dale

There is a recent thread here about transmission connectors. These are readily available (and cheap) from a US company called Corsa Technic. It appears that they may have other FD connectors too, but it is not always easy to cross-reference part numbers.

Here is an invoice showing the part numbers for the transmission connectors:

I had a 2 month long attempt with Mazda HQ to get the part numbers of all of the connectors from the old files. Either the customer service guy didn't know where to look, or Mazda really doesn't want to release each individual connector number to force us to research ourselves....or buy entire expensive harnesses. I'd say best bet is to get quality pictures of every connector and have TE Connectivity and Sumitomo tell us what the part numbers are (they'll usually do that) so we can make the "official" master database. Who's in?

or ....anyone fancy a trip to Hiroshima and ask em at the source?
