Wifes hate our cars because we had them before, we love them, and will always have and love them. I think it's that simple. You just have to make sure you love your wife a lot more than the (IMO) coolest $15k worth of aluminium in the world, and I think yuz b aiight.

Come to think of it the most frequent question / comment I used to get was "Is it turbo?". When I was younger I would throw up two fingers (for twin turbo) like a cool guy or explain that out of the "Great Four" only the Rx-7 had every single car built with twin turbos, no matter if it was base model or automatic. I think that's one of the coolest things about FDs, you never ever have to wonder if they're quick. How many times has your heartbeat sped up as you got nearer to a mean looking Mustang or Camaro just to find out that it's a disguised lesser model (poontang non-turbo V6 engines, they all USED TO suck)...

I recently had a kid say' "I test drove an RX8 and it will smoke your RX7!" I gave him the rotary test of "how many pistons was it?" and when he said "V6" I knew he didn't know WTF he was talking about and I walked away.

Duh - Obiously the FD would get spanked since the Rx-8 is newer and has bigger pistons... I could tell you, mine ran high 16s with RE Amemiya headers and bolt-ons (serious).

In France where these babes are really really rare, you can not imagine the attraction it can be.

My fd gets so much attention when driving around. From guys/girls/cops lol. One time I was parked in a lot late at night and a cop came over told me I can't be here but said it was ok. Then 10 mins later he knocked on the window again and asked what type of car it was. He took some pics and was off on his way. Mazda definitely did something right with this car

My car is not the nicest FD but it has come to the point where I am suprised if I go through a day without a "nice car" comment or at least a "holy sh*t" look on someones face.

Cracks me up when you can embarrass someone like that and they don't even know it. The part that we all miss is when they get home, look online, and

I get a lot of compliments in my WRX which is impressive to me since its such a popular car. Now that I'll be rolling in a rare car with just as much show I can only imagine the chatter.

The word that triggered my snappy reply was when he said "Your" RX7. I could went over a million different scenerious with him but I was already tired and not in a good mood. Although, talking about 7's usually lifts my spirits!

My FD has never even left my driveway, and I've had people yell at it. First 5 minutes after unloading it off the trailer some kid in a riced out elantra slams on his brakes and then tries to burn out or something, moron. Then I was eating dinner with my family on our porch and here some kids saying "WTF is that?" and his friend is all "thats an effing rx7" then he proceeds to call up like 3 of his friends and tell them they'll never believe whats parked in their neighbors driveway. Crazy stuff.

I guess its cause I live in a rich valley and don't drive her that much, but I get almost no comments on my car at all.

Hell I don't even know the answer to that question nor do I really care. Guess I'm getting old.
