OP has the one from KSP, is it turning yellow?

This isnt KSP though, im thinking its just some one
making them out of their garage and trying to turn
a buck.. Not a bad job though...He has them for about
4 or 5 cars, all new, but no name...

Actually carbon is very heat resistant.. That is why they use them in break rotors.. Over a long period of time i think it will start to yellow but that will take a while... And thats the resin not the carbon...

Can anyone say $500 custom heat shield? I CAN!
Custom heat shield huh? I'm intrigued!

DOMFD3S, how do you know as a fact it will burn and it will yellow? Carbon fiber burns but you wont get it lit even with a lighter, unless you do it for a long time. Also it will we are seeing that is will only yellow, if the resin put on what not vaccumed properly and heat treated..
The process of making carbon fiber involves heating it which causes the carbon fiber to turn black. It turns black because it is showing properties of burning. Carbon fiber is composed of carbon. Charcoal is also composed of carbon and it too burns.

Carbon fiber is not the miraculous material everyone makes it to be. In fact, carbon fiber is more ideal than metal in only a certain number of applications.
