fd dash lights
Hi guys, can anyone tell me what all of the lights are and where they are on the fd dash/gauge cluster, specially the row of warnings on the left. And what warnings should come on and go out when i turn the ignition on? Im missing the eng check, oli press, alternator, head and sidelight indicators and prob more, (im not even sure what im missing because i don't know whats meant to light up)!!. Ive got the belt, abs, brake and indicator lights but missing the rest! All my lights work on the car and even the dimmer works for the dash. Anybody got any ideas why im not getting them, my guess is a ground somewhere??
Cheers guys

Could really do with some help guys, just need to know what dash lights come on when the ignition is on and which go out when started. Also where dipped and hi-beam indication lights are. A pic would be really really helpful. cheers

I don't know all of them because mine aren't on or haven't been on, but I know that on the left idiot light section of the cluster ABS is on the far left, check engine is on the far right. I believe the air bag light might be just to the right of the ABS light. On the right bank of idiot lights it's Belts, then something I don't know, then E-Brake, then high-beam.
When I start the car my CEL and Belt come on then go off.
I took an awful iphone picture for you but it at least shows where the lights I'm talking about are. The high beam indicator is the blue light on the far right.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

What type of rex do you have?
The JDM/USDM/EURO etc Rx's have different warning lights.
Sounds like a ground prob to me. Also, checked all your cluster plugs are in properly? (Cant imagine that they would come out on their own, as they have two fairly robust clips per plug)

Thanks very much for that, what are the two lights on the left? Does the rx have a normal dipped headlight indication or only the blue main beam one? I really need to know where the batt and eng check lights are and if they come on with ignition? Thanks

right but am i right in thinking my check eng and batt/alt lights should come on with the ignition and then go out? Obviously unless theres something wrong and the eng light will stay on the whole time?

Also, the fuel gauge, oil pressure guage, and water temperature gauge all have little red indicator lamps in them that light up when the ignition is first switched on. Additionally, the SECURITY and OVERTEMP lights in the center console light up.

On my car (U.S. spec '93), all the lights come on when the ignition is first switched on. Then after about 5 seconds the AIRBAG and CHARGE lights go out. Then everything goes off when the car is started.
