FD Convertible???

I was searching for pics and any infos over an FD Convertible. I have seen years ago pics from a dark red one in the net but i donīt know if this was a fake and i have seen 1999 in the florida Car Trader a black one for sale.
If anybody has informations over one of these cars or the shop who has done the bodywork let me know.

thanks

I don't know about the car you are talking about...but do a search for Tamon Design. They have a pretty famous convertible FD.

there's a thread or two floating around that has a bunch of FD verts in it. see if you can find that and you'll see how ugly they are.

They are "real" in the sense that the cars really exist and that they pictures have not been doctored. But Mazda never made any convertible FDs -- these are custom conversions.

That dark red one looks good. I don't know why you wouldn't like a convertable FD, aesthetically anyway, i understand the importance of it, structurally, but that is one of the nicest convertables ive seen.

RX794 has the 2 most common pics for convertible FD's that i've ever seen. (Minus the Tamon Design and RE versions mentioned above) Never heard about or seen that targa top FD before.

I really like that FD with the sport top. It just looks like it should've been designed that way.

The Pics from RX794 was my prefer design. This cars have the same Style from the Roofcover and Doorhandles. So i think that they comes from the same shop.
But finding this shop was hard...

Its time to freshen up some of the hoses, misc bushings, and a new brake proportioning valve.

NoVA FD vert

Falls Church is were i dwell are there any good meets coming up soon I definitely have a lot to learn and i feel like that would be a good place to start. Even though I'll probably get flamed for having a ragtop at first.

HA! i love that FD, but i never noticed that.

Now that you brought it up, yah, that would be annoying. Get some kind of electronic door popper and shave those off.

Yeah I'm thinking about saving up the loot to do a molded section from the seats back and a removable hardtop

if the door handles get shaved that leaves a gap in the top which means some sort of insert would have to be fab'd but im pretty sure it could still fold up with the top. I don't part of me wants to test the waters to trade for a hardtop but who wants a ragtop anyways right?
