FD Brake Cooling Options

Seems like no one is making backing plates anymore (search results bring up old threads full of dead links).

Anyone know of available options?

Best I can come up with is making custom backing plates and using the C6 Corvette hard tubes. Prob find some surplus nascar inlet ducts on eBay.

Note: If you want to use the Corvette hard tubes, those are 3.5" outlet towards the rotor, whereas most FD standard plates are 3"... likewise the front opening is 4.5" I did some surgery to adapt it to 3"... these are Doug Rippie Motorsport versions.

I have a set of the old ones (can't remember the name at the moment, three letter name with an N). Years ago I took them to a water jet place and had them cut me some plates, I was going to start making them but never did. I can send you a pair of the plates and you just need to weld on the tube.

N-tech used to make ducted brake shrouds for the FD. Old school stuff.

International shipping required but for immediate needs TGS Tuning has a few options.

Up to a 356 rotor - not a bad starting point

I like the lip around the edge, that's something I wished the N-tech plates had.

Better than nothing but the air needs to be directed to the center vanes of the rotor, not to the rotor face itself.

How would you remedy this, given that there are virtually no aftermarket options readily found other than the TGS one?

I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm genuinely curious as this is something I'd like to add with my ongoing restomod build.

The remedy is to build your own, which isn't too difficult.
