FC Oil Cooler...

I kind of searched a little on this issue and haven't found anything about it really.

Has anyone ever put a FC oil cooler on an FD and had better oil temps?
I know FC has a bigger oil cooler that sits up front like a FMIC and it has good oil temps with it.

I don't know if anyone has done it or if it's even possible to do it.

Any thoughts, comments?

Thanks

I actually looked into to this a little. Even the FB (IIRC) has a longer (wider but narrow) oil cooler than the FD's. It seemed like more a pain get something else mounted in the opening in front of the radiator. I opted for the Mocal oil cooler instead for an upgrade just because I know people who have used them and they are fairly proven to be good (and I'm not trying to block any more air than I have to for the radiator).

Well I have a Koyo radiator and my temps are pretty good, especially with vented hood. I was planing going with FMIC, but have changed my mind since.

I can get an FC Oil cooler for 20 bucks so that's the whole reason i was thinking about trying to make it fit.

I dont' know about the oil lines if they are the same or not etc.

Thanks man

with the stock radiator mounting...I wouldn't want anything else in front of it.

Upgrade the stock location oil cooler and that should help out fine.

why take away from one cooling component to cool another?!? Stock locations are ideal for stock mounted components...IC, RAD, OIL, etc.

now if this were my 20B N/A project, TII oil cooler all the way

The 2nd gen oil cooler sounds like a good idea for the money if you could mount it without blocking air to the condenser or radiator and make some ducting for it. But like Kyle said, it probably would be a pain, not to mention the fact that you would probably get as good results using the mocals in the stock locations. Of course, they are more expensive though

Yeah i don't have anything blocking the radiator at this time. I removed the Power steering and A/C.

I'll look into the Mocals.

Thanks
