Why would you buy something you seem to know so little about? Also why take your car apart that you need it the next day without a solid game plan?
From my few minutes of searching this subject for you Ive found that you need to relocate the coils since the leading coil wont fit and splice the harness.
Search "FC coils"

Why not just purchase used FD coils? You can get a set of 3 here on the forum for 60 bucks.
As mentioned above, the fc coil won't fit under the UIM in the stock location so you'll need to fab up a bracket. Then you will need to snip the leading coil connector off the wiring harness and crimp on some small eyelet connectors so that the wires will mate up to the posts on the fc leading coil.
The only good reason for an FD guy to run the FC coils (like I do) is because they have a Jacobs amp which can and will fry the FD coils, but the FC coils work well in this application.

ok thanx I will sell the FC coils and get some used FD coils. The orig. coils still work somewhat but it runs like its only hitting on two spark plugs... new plugs-wires(NGK) on car...the cars all buttoned back up and running. The car at WOT pulls fine through 1st... then starts to break-up at the top of 2nd 8,000... 3rd breaks-up around 6500...4th around 5000... so seems like coils to me.
Already cleaned all grounds, rebuilt alternator puts out about 14.2V at idle.

I am running the stock ECU, and the boost is at 10lbs. im leaving it at stock boost level. My mods are PWR radiator, Apex intakes, pettit racing down pipe, and mid pipe, HKS carbon TI exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, RPS clutch, eliminated air pump, eliminated EGR. I think that about does it. Oh i have an EBC to control the boost.

Not to sound like the ******** that I am, but you badly need to perform a SEARCH (several would be nice). The SEARCH button is in the upper right corner of the screen.
You dont even seem to have clue about this car.
Reading the FAQ of this forum wouldnt hurt either.

i have searching the crap out of my problem, and i cant find much. I have been delaying starting my post, b/c I did not want to get flamed but I guess I did. Why do you think I have very little postes. I just search everything before I post. And I cant find some info so I ask the RX7 family and I get flamed . I all out of ideas. I have searched everything and i give up. Can someone at least point me in the right direction. and yes I do know about my car. if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all.

I'm surprised you're able to keep boost in check with an open exhaust. Are you *sure* you're not getting boost creep? If you are, the stock ecu is going to end the party. These cars tend to boost higher with each gear, so that would make sense given your symptoms.......

well i hooked up a boost gauge(before i was using the EBC to monitor the boost), to get a very accurate reading, and I did a pull in 4th and my boost pattern is 10-8-10, then I did a pull in 3rd and 4th and the boost is right at 10psi and it does not spike. I set the EBC for the the boost to come on slowly. Not fast because it would probably spike. And i did not want to take that chance. I just put brand new spark plugs in like 3 weeks ago, and new NGK plug wires.

Wow, I hope for your sake that Goodfella continues to help you.
If you "know" about this car then I must be a master rotary tech.
Can you please explain how you set the BC to let the boost come on slowly? I would really like to learn this.
Just so you cant say Im not trying help you: Is your wastegate ported?

I didn't think the FC coils were a direct replacement. I thought I read a message a while back saying they must be amp'd for use on the FD.
Anyway, Jonathan, start with FD coils (used or new). Heck, I'm sure there are a few people in the FL area that would be willing to pop their coils out just to test and see if that took care of your problem (that way you wouldn't have to purchase a new set until you knew it was going to fix the problem).
If that doesn't fix your problem, you might want to do a compression test and see where you are at with the health of the motor.

You're not helping, it would probably be to your benefit to just stop posting. Simply because you don't know what you're talking about in this case.
The boost controller can automatically allow a small amount of pressure to bleed through and open the wastegate gradually.

Mahjik, the fc leading coil won't fit in the fd coil bracket, and requires some minor wiring changes to the coil harness to get it to mate to the coil. There is no advantage to running fc coils vs fd coils, except for the fact that the fc coils withstand the jacobs-type ignition amps over the long term, whereas the fd coils will fry in short order.
