Favorite replacement horn?

I did some searching, but does anyone have a favorite replacement horn? Mine died, and the stock horn is fairly weak, I thought an upgrade would be nice.

Yeah I'm interested as well. Mine works fine but reminds me of a motorcycle horn. I want something more beefy

RX-8 horns.

Two tone, sound ace and a nice upgrade.

I have them on all my cars now.

I've posted up about this in the past.

I used to have a '95 Nissan Quest minivan as a daily driver. It has a really good sounding horn - not too "special", just sounds like a horn. Much deeper than the "meep meep" stock horn.

Best part is they made a zillion of those vans (the Quest and the Mercury Villager are the same) and you can find them at the pick and pull junkyard.

The horns are under the driver's side headlight on a bracket. You can get the horns and bracket for probably $2 or so at the pick and pull.

They bolt right up, plug right up, fit great, are dead reliable, and sound good. You will need to remove the front bumper to install, but this is true of any horn installation.

Hmm.. I don't suppose having an open WG dump pipe would count as a horn replacement, would it???

Or Hella. I had to do this with my 300ZX, the Z32 horn made our FD horns sound downright manly.

I installed a Magnum Blaster horn in 2002. It has a nice tone. I think its 138 decibels (???). After almost getting backed into twice, the oem (single) horn had to go. I didn't have to remove the bumper to install it in the stock drivers side location.

I got the Hella Horns from Griot's Garage. They are very nicely made and are definitely louder than the 'pardon me' stock horn. The Griot's page says 118 dB, but with modern sound deadening, car stereos and other distractions, I would say I could even use a little more volume.

What about one of those insanely loud ear bleeder air horns with the compressor attached to it? The $90.00+ "IFYOUBACKINTOMEIMGOINGTOEATYOURFAMILY" ones that basically scare the life out of people?

I see the horn on an FD as more of a "Stop backing up/Don't do that you idiot/Hit my FD and your world ends today" type of proactive device to alert people to the small sports car that they can't see from up in their SUV, as they back out of a parking spot, one hand on the wheel, ice cream in the other, cell phone nested between neck and shoulder, as they rush to the donut store with three sticky kids screaming in the back seat.

I bought one of these for my Miata back in the day and liked it so much that it was one of my 1st mods when I bought the FD. It's got two tones, sounds kinda Porsche 911-like, and LOUD.
