Faulty Oil Guage?

Well, The previous owner just redid the faulty oil guage at KDR, but it seems it still has problems.

I was wondering what I should do as far as the oil guage cause I hate driving around a car without knowing what is going on with the car.

I'm not sure about fixing it, but what exactly it wrong with it? Does it move at all?

10 to 1 it's not the gauge, it's the sending unit.
Bolts to the rear cover just under the oil filter, about 80 bucks from the dealer. Either that or just remove it, spray some carb cleaner in it, clean the electrical contacts (wiring harness) apply a little dialectric grease, and call it good for another 6 months. Hell, that's all that KDR probably did in the first place.

My guess is the sending unit too. The gauge would just read 0... Not cool at all. Give Ray at Malloy Mazda a call. I paid $75 for mine.

I have the same problem, I'm going to install an Autometer #3323. Only costs $35.00 on eBay.

Just like others had said, it's most likely to be the sending unit.
I had the same problem with my oil pressure guage, it would read 0 some times. I got a hold of a used sending unit cleaned it and put it in, it did read normal for a week then it went back to the same problem. So i installed a brand new sending unit and it works sweet since.

If you want to spend some money - get better gauges and install in place of the factory gauges. That is what I want to do eventually. Replace the water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge with something more accurate. I think I saw that here a while back, but it might be on robinette's site too.
