Fans constantly runs?
Hi Everybody:
I'm having some fan issues. It started happening about 2 weeks ago, before I took it to the shop for some reliability mods. After a drive, I noticed that the fans stayed on and I remembered that people on the forum saying that the fans stay on for 10 minutes after you take the key off so I didn't really think it was an issue, then a couple days later I went to try to start the car to take it to the shop to get some reliability mods done, and it wouldn't start...and I was like WTF? I noticed that none of the lights were on and so I figured that some how the battery got drained, so I jumped the car and took the car to the shop. After the a couple days at the shop, I was talking to one of the guys at the shop and he told me that the day I dropped off the car, the battery was dead and when they jumped the car, they noticed that the fan was constanly on and there is a clicking sound coming from the fan relay. So I took my car to a mechanic to try to fix it, but was unsuccessful to resolve it. They suspected that it might be a broken fan relay or something, but when they put in the new relay, it still kept on clicking, he said that it might be a problem with the ECU. So for now, when I done driving the car I have to disconnect the battery to prevent the fan from draining the battery. Could someone help me resolve what the problem could be? The car no matter what the temperature is, the fan is constantly on and I hear this clicking sound coming from the fan relay. Anything I should look at?

I've had the car a little over a month, the first things I wanted to get done was maintenance and reliablity. When I bought the car, it was bone stock. After I bought the car, I contacted Mazda to see what recalls were performed on the car and they told me that all the recalls were performed...

If a fan mod has been done to your car, by the previous owner, it may be that the switch has been left in the on position. This would cause your fans to turn on two minutes after starting the engine. It would also cause them to run for ten minutes after shutdown. After the ten minutes, the grounded switch will drain your battery.
If a fan mod was installed by the prior owner, there may be a switch to turn it on and off. Many fan mod installations are done with a switch wired to the fog lamp switch, near the ashtray. If you have a fog lamp switch, and no fog lamps, this would ba a good indicator.

Okay here's the update:
I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and pressing in the brakes for like 1 minute. Then I put in a new battery, the rapid clicking from the fan relays is gone, but the fans still comes on and now I hear this rapid clicking sound coming from the manifold on the top. Can someone help me out? Anybody local to help a fellow RX7 owner out? I really want to avoid taking it to another mechanic that doesn't know how to work on and RX7 and spend a ton of money again...
