wish mine would run when the car is turned off, what do you mean you have to reset the battery.. and what are your water temps before shut down.. iv heard if the car is a certain temp above, the fans would come on after the cars off.

I have my fans rigged with switch and they will run for 10 minutes after shut down, but they do turn themselves off. Have you waited it out to see if they will shutdown after 10 minutes?

how the hell did you get it to do that section 8? when i used to have a turbo timer, i used to use it as my fan timer really.. then it broke. never needed it so i never installed a new one.. i normally pull my car in the garage, turn the engine off but leave the electricals on. open the hood and throw a fan in front of the car.
its always also hooked up to a battery tender so i don't have to worrie about it. after a about 10 mins i start it up one last time, for about 30 seconds and turn it off completely and let the fan keep blowing at the car and letting the heat out of my garage..

wow thats like a rediculous shutdown procedure you have there... whatever works for ya i guess.

to the OP mine did that when i was putting break in miles on my engine stoped when i reset the key...key on key off. hasent happened since so i dunno. it really is worthless unless your water pump is running so not sure why someone would want it without an electric water pump too.

to be honest, it was a pleasant side effect of just running a basic switch to control my fans. I followed one of the how to threads here on the forum to rig up the switch, and I found that after that the fans would run for 10 minutes after I turned the car off, even with the switch turned off.

do you have a 94 model and a lower temp coolant switch? just looking at the diagrams, the aftercool fan control module appears to have a timed logic circuit. If it receives a signal on the thermoswitch wire/pin for 2 minutes prior to shutting the engine off, it will engage the fans for 10 minutes, unless there is another way to interpret the diagrams...

also all the various modified fan control wirings that people do could also be triggering the aftercool module.

my way may be weird, but it gets the heat out of my garage and wont turn into a sauna. Cam said what i do is acutally a pretty good idea when i asked him if what i was doing was a bad idea. and i see my water temps actually dont go above 99c when i put the fan on the car.. cools it down pretty quick.

Thats is the best way to keep the engine cool. Leaving the fans on cools the water in the radiator. When you start the car back up, your circulating that cooled water back into the motor.
As for MOBEONER Id say you have a bad switch. If you replaced with FC switch that could be causing it. I would say its a great thing for the fans to stay on as long as they shut off @ some point..
I want to wire my turbo timer to my fans too, ive always thought that would be a easy to do.

Well i was assuming that 10mintues of the fans running wouldn't be too good for the battery. I seems like 10 minutes is a but much.but according to that diagram its normal. My temps are ever higher that 212.

The fans should only run for 10 min if the fan recall was performed and the car got really hot. Its pretty rare for them to come on this way by themselves. You almost have to be driving around in traffic on a hot day and really let everything get heat soaked, then immediately shut the car down. If they always do this you may have a problem with the fan thermoswitch or wiring. If that wire is grounded, the fans will always run the car is on and run for 10 min every time you **** down.

The foregoing is correct. I would like to NOTE a common exception: if you've installed the FC thermoswitch, it will trigger the after running fans much sooner than described above. This is normal, if not desireable. (I let the fans cycle this way and have never had a problem using my Odessy PC925 battery.)

For those of you who don't know, the fan mod was part of Mazda's cooling system recall that was performed mainly on '93's, IIRC. The wiring that is depicted in arghx's post shows the addition of the fan module as well as the changes that were made to the wiring of fan relays and harness assy (the fan harness was replaced as part of the recall too). Because of the mods, the schematics in the '93 FSM no longer apply. This can be quite confusing if you are unaware of these changes. Therefore, if you have the cooling recall/fan module, disregard the ''93 FSM and use the diagrams in the Fan Control Module/recall bulletin or the diagram posted by arghx above; however, please note that the diagram in his post is abridged.

I know many of you may be unaware of the cooling recall that Mazda issued, or the extent of it; I hope this helps clarify things.
