Fan direction and overheating problem

Ok i finally have my rx-7 running(thanks to help on here) and it has a lot of power and still runs strong even though it has 110k miles on it. Anyways now i run into the problem of it overheating. One concern i had was on any car i had owned before or worked on, the fans blew towards the motor, well on this one they are blowing towards the radiator??????? Are they supposed to do that? Also i did bleed the air out of the coolant system before taking it for a drive. I did that several times until both coolant caps had no room for air to be in them. I had put a new thermostat in about a month ago and should still be good b/c i have not driven it any but yesterday. New oil was put in as well. Also upon changing the thermostat i checked the thermosensor and thermoswitch both were in great condition. Now what could cause my rx-7 to overheat? What are some causes of other owners who had same problem? The fans blowing towards the radiator confuses the hell out of me because to me that sounds like the dumbest idea i have ever heard of since its going against the flow of the air coming in through the front of the car. I am pretty much a noob when it comes to rotary engines though because my previous cars were camaros. Any help would be much obliged.

Oh one more thing, please dont do that stuff : "newbies search the forums". I have spent the last hour searching the forum and nothing was said about the fan direction. So only positive replies please

your fans are blowing the wrong way is should be pulling air into the engine bay

Ok thats what i thought. Man whoever put the fans in there totally done it backwards b/c the place for the wiring is even wrong. They have the back of the fan facing the motor so even if you were to switch the wires to run opposite direction it wouldnt work b/c the blades are facing wrong way and in fact the whole brackets.

How much overheating? How long does it take to overheat after driving it? When you shut your car down, is this when it's overheating? Look under the car do you see any coolant leaks, even a drop?

Fans pull air in through the nose into the engine bay. One is 4 blades, the other is 5. Both use the same motors.

Ok the two fans have seperate motors and they both are facing the radiator. The backs of them are facing the engine where the wiring goes. As for the overheating it overheated after about 10 minutes driving it. I didnt have any coolant leaks. Not even a drop.

the fans are not the reason why you are overheating really esp after 10 minutes of driving. I dont' have to turn my fans on unless i'm in stop and go traffic or waiting at a redlight for a long time, and even that the max temp i get is 200F.

The fans are pullers, pulling air through the radiator and up into the motor (vented hood would help)

I'd check other things besides just the radiator fans.

Are you sure your water is circulating? Check to see if the radiator is hot. Perhaps your water pump is shot.

Water pump seems to be working fine. Radiator gets hot as well so has to have some sort of water flow to balance out the tempature.

The backs of the fans are supposed to face the engine. When they come on you should be able to feel in the nose to see if they are pulling or pushing air.

if nothing else helps, invest in a new radiator, rotaries produce extreme heat extremely quick as we all know, i got myself a KOYO radiator and it bolted straight in about an hour later, my temps are cooler than even I had imagined... KOYO and FLUIDYNE are both worth the $$$ IMO

Yeah i went pricing them yesterday over the net. I replaced a few hoses that could of had possible leaks once i had really inspected my car. Also i finally got the fans working properly and direct wired them since they guy before me had messed them up. If this doesn't take care of the heating problem, most likely i will buy a new radiator and a vented hood since both items i would eventually need and wouldn't be a waste.
