f#cked oil pressure gauge

question my oil pressure gauge is messed up .. its not reading the pressure correctly .. yes i know this is a common problem for the 7s but .. i was wondering besides the obvious .. that the display is incorrect .. would this incorrect reading have dire affect on the cars performance? such as the sensor not telling the ecu theres not enough oil and maybe causing it to not supply the engine with the correct amount?

The reading is not used by the ecu in anyway. And it's probably not the gauge but the sending unit that's bad.

oh i ask this question cause .. my car makes this really horrendous scrapping sound like something is slipping when i left off the clutch in first gear .. before it would only make that noise when the car seemed to be running too hot .. but now it seems to be doing it all the time .. and also starting to do that in second gear

Are you sure it's not just a loose belt?
I'm sure you have checked your clutch/brake and transimission fluids already. Do a visual inspection on your clutch.

the noise sounds like metal on metal .. hmmm i sounds to be coming from below the car or something .. not too sure how to describe it since i dont know too much about it .. but i can feel it resonate to the clutch (like i can feel it on my foot) and i kinda know when it will happen .. if i let off on the clutch and not gas it enough .. but once again .. it only seems to come when its too hot .. anyone know what the symptoms are of a bad transmission? bad clutch? detonation? .. any insight would be much appreciated

nah its not an exhaust leak .. now that ive been reading around .. i think its the clutch wearing out and theres not enough friction so it slips out causing that noise
