Extra e-fan for hot summer!!!

Summer is here and living in a city with a lot of stop and go traffic kinda makes one keep an eye on the water temperatures a lot. and i already took some precautions to keep me on the safe side.

Mazda Competition Aluminum Radiator
Radiator Silicon Hoses
Petit Aluminum AST
Petit Down Pipe
2 bottles of "WATER WETTER"

most mods on my FD are Reliability ones and was thinking of doing the "Electric Fan Mod" but then i said to myself...

"Why not add another E-Fan like a Thin Flex A Lite In Front of the Radiator with a switch in side the cabin to turn on when ever i want it very similar to the E-Fan Mod to keep those temps down especially during those hot summer nights"

i was thinking running this mod with the stock fans what you do you guys think

so far im doing the corner light trick to turn on the stock e fans low speed during the day...

Are you having problems with your temps?

If everything is good with your cooling system you will not need an extra E-fan to keep the car cool.

the stock fans should be enough to keep the car cool, i say run the car turn the AC on and watch the fans. see if they are running properly you may have a bad fan.

thanks for the heads up but yeah my fans are working properly i just though i take a precaution cause i really dont want the FD to reach the 200+ degree range for them to kick it. seems like a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. thats why i was considering on doing the E-Fan mod to make the stock fans run all the time at high speeds with a switch inside the **** pit but didnt want to gut and splice the harness.... i just thought on installing a new low profile e fan in front of the radiator to turn on all the time and keep those temps low without putting stress on my stock ones. im probably worrying too much on this...

Im not familiar with the e-fan mod you are talking about but you probably don't want the fans running at high speed all the time. Just get a FC thermo switch to make them come on earlier or if you get a pfc have them set to come on sooner. Lowering the temp they switch in is a good idea but you should let them cycle thru the speeds as they were meant to.

Definitely worrying too much, a fan on the inter cooler or oil coolers (or a second oil cooler if you don't already have two) would bring more value

Yea I think a fan on the ICs is best. I would have done it myself but my engine bay is to cramped

Unless you have a big front mount intercooler restricting airflow I wouldn't do anything. You'll just stress the electrical system.

I would recommend you install an FC thermoswitch if you haven't already. Otherwise you will be fine... 200F is not hot enough to be a problem. There are piston engines running at 220F (and sometimes hotter) all day long.
