Exhaust Silencer help
I've got a Greddy Titanium Racing Exhaust for my FD. I've had the exhaust on my car since '04 and love it, however I have reasons for needing a silencer to reduce the volume (why else would one need an exhuast silencer? ).
Greddy offered this system with a silencer after I purched mine, so I know that one was available, however the system has been discontinued, and I've been trying to either track down a vendor that will sell the silencer made for this system, or find a "universal" silencer that would work just as good if not better.
If any of you have any advice please chime in. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what the tip size is. I'll messure it tonight. I've read about the apexi silencers and like that idea. I guess i'd be more comfortable with the idea if I knew it was going to work before I purchased the item.
Thanks for the response!

I love the roar too! But, I love my wife more She is less than fond of the roar, which makes her less than fond of the car. Anything I can do to change that only improves my chances of keeping the FD for longer...it is not the most "family friendly" vehicle as we all know.
I do feel bad for my neighbors at times too...especially in the mornings when I leave around 7 a.m. (not excesively early, but I'm sure it wakes up a few people).
With that said, anyone out there have an Apexi silencer on your Greddy exhuast??

If it is the same Greddy titanium I had, it is a 4.5" 115mm tip. I used an HKS silencer off of ebay for mine.
Just about any silencer made for a 115mm tip should work. (It makes a huge difference in sound by the way)

I like the idea of Apexi's ATS, and will probably purchase one of those, as the performance is less hindered at high revs.
Again, thanks to all who responded!

Ok, it has taken a while to get my silencer...long story short, UPS left it at my door and someone stole it the first time it was delivered...grrr.
I do have a problem though. For anyone looking to purchase an Apexi ATS silencer for their Greddy Ti racing exhaust, the mounting holes for each do not match up, and you can't get the Apexi in far enough for them to match up.
Sooo, I'm going to take it to a machine shop and have a hole cut so that I can install it. With that said, does anyone out there know how far back the silencer should be placed within' the exhaust tip??? Diagrams I've seen on the box of my silencer show it being placed almost flush with the tip of the exhuast (furthest from the front of the car. I really don't know...please help!

yeah man
as long as it's snug.. it's fine right on the tip..
that's usually where the holes line up anyway
u can try zip tying it if the holes aren't too far off from each other..

RX7.com aka Rotary Performance in Texas, can get the GReddy silencer for the Ti exhust.
I just received one from them for around $50 delivered.
No issues with the location of the mount hole. I upgraded the hardware to a larger dia bolt & all metal self locking nut. The included hardware loosened up after a couple of weeks & rattled like hell.
Unfortunate it not mfg from Ti, but stainless steel instead. Weights almost 1/2 as much as the rest of the exhaust.
The exhaust gets waaayyy too hot to use a nylon ty-rap mate.
