are you talking about the inside of the tip or the outside?

if its the inside of the tip then water and a toothbrush/rag maybe a little kerosene.. i use kero to clean the grime off my motorbike it works wonders.

if its the outside just clean it as much as you can and get autosol or similar,, you will never get it smooth cos of the rocks.

Any type of degreaser, should clean out the carbon deposits. I too, had a black exhaust. I sprayed some degreaser on, and she was shinning in all her glory again. I recommend "Greased Lightning", it comes in a purple bottle. Available at local auto shops.

Might not be strong enough. I would reccomend a metal polish. The ones that smell really strong... I have some type of wheel polish stuf and it works well

INvest $$$$ in a good pressure washer.

At 1500~psi it takes just about all the dirt and grease off without hurting the paint.

Does wonders to the wheels, tires and CB.

I use Mothers Aluminum Polish on my S/S MagFlow and Tips. Once a week keeps it looking brand new.
