They shop did it with instructions, they are the ones who cant figure it out. Possibly something to do with setting up parameters,. They are going to call HKS later if they cant figure it out lol.

I downloaded the instructions for it. It's a little different than most external boost controllers in terms of tuning it. You have to make sure you have it set to external wastegate ("P" for poppet valve). You have to set the wastegate spring pressure ("standard max boost"), the target boost, the gain ("correction coefficient") and the start duty ("offset"). It's got some similarities to the AVC-R in terms of the settings but the AVCR uses a solenoid and the EVC VI uses a stepper motor like the old Greddy units.

The EVC 6 doesnt like it when you tell it what wastegate pressure is and actual wastegate pressure is the same as or less than that. Try setting wastegate pressure in the EVC to a LB or two less than actual and see what happens.

I have this boost controller and it was a nightmare to get it to work when i had my stock twins... Steve Kan was able to figure it out while getting my tune and it works awesome! dont know how he did it but it works

dont turn up the boost too much without a tune

Set the original base at like 10psi, then increase to desired boost levels for the a/b settings. If the stock boost level you set is too high, it will not increase. They're not too bad to setup if you read the instructions

Ah - If you're running that lower boost then set the base lower....Like 8psi or so.
