Enjoy 15psi with water injection on my gt35r single turbo

This is a video I owe most of you. It's my rx7 hitting 15pai with my water injection kicking in at 10psi.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58rj3148JZA

Enjoy lol

Why don't you run a blow off valve?

lol I haven't updated that page in years.

I honestly don't run a BOV because the guy who was gonna weld it broke his hand and I saw the thread on running no BOV. Done it for 4k miles and no problems lol

A 3rd gear pull means running it to redline.

There are plenty of automotive forums that will indulge 6k rpm shifts. This is not one of them.

Well, you could've won an academy award as Morgan Freeman for your roll in "driving miss Daisy", that's for sure!!!

And this is NOT why this forum sucks, bud...

I've got thick skin ladies ;-)

Actually. If u look at my quick view of my power fc commander, u see I used 67% fuel. I have 550s and 1680s. I cut the clip where I did 7600 rpm cause a car was passing and it looked reckless. lol.

haha my blowoff valve delete is becoming a trend. https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo-rx-7s-23/8-months-counting-no-blowoff-valve-884695/ funny thing is, I get complimented on my "sweet BOV" all the time though

I think you need to make a video where you shift at 8000 to redeem yourself

I'll have try and remember to get a video later today while I'm on the dyno of my GT35R with Brent's WI at 20+psi. Do you know what kind of power you're making? Do you have the ported shroud? I got a ported shroud a few weeks ago and I'd like to say I think it makes a difference. Then again, I also replaced my old **** manifold that leaked at the engine and turbo, which made a TREMENDOUS difference in how the car feels, lol.

garrett, i was the car parked next to you for a while at Deals Gap. she survived the whole trip 2 weeks after i finished my build. :-D

Its a stock port reman engine. very not sexy, but it does a damn good job

I will redeem myself shortly. i also have a 3 bar sensor to install and kick up my boost. but i already lose traction on my 235 rear tires

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering what no BOV would sound like!

And don't let these women get to you a bout shifting the gears early. You are on a public road in the middle of the day trying to hold a damn video camera. I can let the RPM slide a bit

I read some of this thread but still don't get the logic/rationale. I don't think there is one. All this debate about a $200 part? Most turbo experts recommend the BOV be installed as close as possible to the throttle plates. Miy Blitz BOV is welded to the elbow (beautiful work by Garfinkle btw), and sounds far better than any I've heard in these youtube vids, which are akin to a fat guy queefing. The effect of not having one is very similar to water hammer in hydraulic applications, it sends a shock wave back though your system. I'm not sure why anyone would think is a good thing, unless you're just trying to be different and score points on the internet.

I guess for the many years that I've owned this car and completely rebuilt it, I'm still a noob at shifting. hahaha

Did you really run out and make a you tube vid just because someone on the internet said you're weren't shifting at redline? Someone needs to post one of the special olympics deals. I hope your life is more than your car.

Looks good. If you dont like the raspy sound try welding in a magnaflow resonator or muffler in your MP. Itll clean it up.

Your car is quick but I see that your losing some power after 7k. Prob from your stock ports.

LOL. Perfect example of the internet right here; damned if you do, damned if you don't.

The guy seems to post a ton of videos, so I think he just likes making videos, nothing wrong with that.

He has/will be hosting his own car show so that is why he makes a lot of videos. And to be honest, I really do not mind. A lot of his videos help educate many people on these forums who work on their car. That's like asking why do people make build threads of their cars. They are beneficial to me and I'm sure many others on the forums.

while they may have "PBS" vibe to them sometimes - I do like watching his videos. Informative - for me anyways - and not arrogant and no BS.
