Engine Stalls While Moving When Downshifting

Been having an issue with my FD. For some reason if my car is moving and the RPM is above about 1500 and I depress the clutch while moving only happens when down shifting it will stall if I don't rev match or blip the throttle. If I have to suddenly brake I usually apply the brakes and once it's down to about the 1500 RPM range I can safely engage the clutch and it doesn't stall. I feel like maybe it's due to the valves in the throttle body shutting quickly and throwing off the air/fuel mixture because I accidentally recreated it while trying to fix my surging idle about a month ago. Car starts right up with no problems whenever this happens, but it can be a safety issue since it can happen while driving. Never had a manual car do this to me before. I don't have any issues when starting the car with a cold engine. No random loss of power only occurs when the above mentioned happens. No problem with driving up hill. No issues while braking. Plan on replacing fuel filter soon because it's old and I have no idea if it's ever been replaced. Car has about 80k Km on it. Any ideas?

Start with the dashpot, that's the #1 culprit for stalling when coming to a stop. It's either bad or misadjusted.

Search on it, there's a decent amount of documentation on it.

I checked it, it seems looks like the little arm for the throttle cable mechanism doesn't even touch the dash pot. Messed with the little white part feels like there's no resistance and springs right back when pressed in. How much of it should be sticking out?
