Engine Rebuild Parts (Gasket/Parts List)?
Ok, I've been reading my workshop manual and just got my R&R video. I have one major question. Does anyone know of a concise (and complete) list of the exact parts I need to replace when replacing my engine? Looks like a wide range of gaskets, some turbo bolts, etc. I've searched and have seen a long list of this or that but no definitive list of "gotta haves" to replace the engine. Anyone know if this kit is complete:

I know there are nice to haves when doing this and I seem to be pretty up on those but I haven't seen a full list (with Mazda Part Numbers) of the must haves.
Thanks!
Aaron

I can give you a list of all the things I am replacing on my particular engine swap, but aside from the install gaskets, each car is going to be different. For example, I reused the crush washers on my oil cooler lines... some people may replace them. I reused the oil cooler line o-rings too (because Mazda only sells the whole connection, at least according to my local dealer). There are no turbo bolts that you *must* replace, but it is a good idea of they are old or messed up.
No matter what, when you remove your engine for a tear down, you cannot anticipate every single thing you will need to replace. There is always going to be something you will have to order. My advice is to pull the engine, tear it down, and make a list of all the things that you will need to replace. Then order those parts.
One note... The install kit did not come with turbo oil return line gaskets, which I consider a MUST to replace. Those are the only additional gaskets that I had to order.

i have used the kit from rotaryaviation and i have to say its pretty good
it came with everything to put the motor together as far as the front cover gasket, oil pan gasket, the lower intake manifold gasket, exhaust gasket you ll need to get. as far as the oil pan gasket i use "the right stuff" from permatex it work great.

I would also recommend ordering the following parts..
These are all metal and reusable gaskets that come on the 99+ FD. I'm including the part #'s as well to help you with ordering them from Mazda.. They should be able to get them unless they are just plain ******* stupid..
Front Cover Gasket N390-10-502
Lower Intake Manifold Gasket N3A1-13-111C
If these don't come in the kit get them as well
Pilot Bearing N326-11-D03
Pilot Seal 1881-11-404
If you changing the main bearings you will want to order at least 1 or both of these as they are soft and usually get messed up when tring to take them out prior to pressing out the bearing and they are only about $3-4 each..
Stationary Brng Lock Screws NF01-10-E09
Hope this helps you out..
