engine mount trouble, please look at the pics
OK guys, i am putting an engine back together for someone and i am kind of stuck with the engine mount. I beleive i remember that when i was installing engine mount, they would both look the same.
now i just checked his and they are really different. I beleive the usual FD engine mount is the lower one in the pic, what the hell is the other one from? it doesn't seem to have a bolt to hook up the rubber. The one on top is really weird, the rubber is in fact broken this is why it looks like that.
i am really confused, shouldn't they be alike?
please help me.

However, they will look similar once everything is put back around them again (except for the passenger mount has holes to mount the shielding to it).

The one side is aluminum, and the other is steel, since the aluminum tends to distort during the life of a motor (torque) it is usually replaced by mazda with thwo steel sides... if you look close you can see that both of the mounts are the same, with the exception of the shroud on the turbo side... but the mounting holes for that shroud exist on both sides...
They are not both the same. There is a bump on one of the mounts that presses the oil pan, because the mount interferes with where a pan bolt would go. Do a search. I read one on here a few months back. If I remember right the bump is on the aluminum one and helps with pan sealing. I used two right side metal mounts and just took the shroud off for use on the left (drivers) side. I don't think they even sell the aluminum one anymore. I have heard people use a washer to make up for the bump. Anyways hope this helps.
