Cool Engine fire, howmuch am I looking at?

What are your guys thoughts on this car. I love the interior/exterior color. I can live with the wheels. From what I can tell it needs:
- Engine
- I know it needs wiring etc but not sure what or how to go about getting it.
- Hood (would go aftermarket)
- Right side front fender
- possibly some suspension (would go aftermarket all around if it did need it)
- headlights (would go hid)
- possibly a front bumper? looks ok but if it did need it (would go aftermarket)

Anything else? What would be a good price to pay for this car? Basically what am I getting myself into here. Any help appreciated, I'm trying to save a beautiful FD here! Help me out! thanks!

You would need allot of the little things. That bay is toast along with everything in it. Unless you can find a wrecked FD with ALL of the engine support equipment intact that will be a bi*ch to get back on the road reliably.

Reliably or cheaply considering unless you get a parts car like you stated, those oem parts are gonna be tons of money.

Anywhere I could find a list or something of what I need so that I can source them and see how it goes? It wont be my daily driver so I can take my time and source parts from all over the states (I'm in Canada).

It would be a fun project I think. Considering I could get the car for fairly cheap? Is $4,500 usd a fair price? Too much? Too little?

I've rebuilt a couple fire damaged FDs. Niether one had NEARLY that much damage.

Everything under the hood is toast, I wouldn't buy that car unless you have a specific donor car picked out. OR unless you are planning on a non-street legal, pure track/drag car.

you could always rip everything out, buy an LS1, repaint the engine bay, get new fender, get whole car repainted, buy Hinsons kit, drop the LS1 + T56 in...and dont tell anyone on this forum you did... and you will have kept another FD on the road.

Front Clip, lots of time and some money and you might get it moving.

I would never buy that car with the purpose of rebuilding it unless I was building a racecar from a shell.

It could be worth parting out though.

the red touring interior was a really rare option.

granted the damage to the front is extensive, but how how many miles are on the chassis? the rest of it looks clean.

****, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.. Just strip the engine bay and replace parts as I can get a hold of them.. Perfect LS1 or 3 Rotor project car..

did you get it??? it went too high to even make a profit on. you still have to pay a $200 buyers fee and towing from there to california would be about $800!! not worth it to me!

The #1 project car rule that applies to any and every project.

Buy the best one you can afford, it'll be cheaper in the long run.

If you want a project car I've got a nice running driving, clean titled 94 that you can drive for $10K obo. That might sound like a lot but when you consider what that car needed even to run a LS1 it was extensive. You'd need wiper motor, headlight assemblies, entire front body harness, brake lines and hoses, steering rack, etc, etc, etc. Hell you could sell the motor and trans out of mine for at least $2K.

not to mention brakes, ABS, lines, etc etc.... there's ALOT involved in restoring a fire damaged FD (ask me how i know). i finally have the bulk of the parts a year and a half later (and im using mine as a 20b project car). i overpaid for my car ($5K) in a similar condition to yours... although for some reason my chassis doesnt come up as salvage so its worth more me thinks . anyway, its a ton of work and ive spent a **** load on parts. not trying to turn you off of the idea... just be very sure what youre getting into with this thing. oh, and dont forget to add the price of paint . -heath
