electric windows both sides
this is a strange one ive looked through the forum cant find the same problem anywhere.
basically my electric windows dont work on both sides my eletric mirrors work though and central locking everything else works fine.
No fuses have blown ive taken the pannels off & door cards all ok is there a relay or a specific fuse for the windows?
stumped, any ideas
Lee

Constant threat
I would start by getting a volt meter and making sure you have power from the switch to the motors when you push the switch. If not, trace back up the line until you find where you DO have power and start troubleshooting from there.
If you have power to the motors then I would see if they are drawing any amps when activated, using your multi-tester again.

This happen to me and i just tested the regulator first to make sure my motors where not out.I used a car bat and hot wire the regulators straight up. Then i tried my passenger switch no go. So i bought another driver master switch and everthing was a ok. The explanation i got was the master switch for mines contains a circuit for the passenger as well like a loop. Also your contact in you master switch can be dirty and need cleaning. I bought mines from Ray Crow for about 150.00 if i remember right.

I will try this tonite, as i thought the two switches were seperate didnt know it looped through the main to allow both to function makes sense that both would not work
Also the fuse box cover in the footwell mines all in Jap, and really hard to tell which fuse is to what. does anyone have a English/US diagram?

Thanks for the pic, "lock windows" you can disable the passinger side window?
ive just got confused even more my fuse box cover is nothing like that, the blank is were the 30amp power windows should be. Mines a 97FD did they change it later on? or has the previous owner out the wrong cover on?
Dammm it just keeps gettin worse lol

Tested the window motors last nite and they all work, try to upload pics last nite but site wasnt working. So its either the harness or the switch is there a way to test the switch?

i had this problem with my passenger door switch (left side). i popped the switch out and i took it apart. there was carbon build up in there so i just took a flat head and scratched it off. put it back together and plugged it back in. good as new. hope this works

our windows have a window lock feature, it's a little switch underneath the window switches, toggle it to the opposite that it currently is before doing much more, you may have just put it in "lock" and not noticed, I know I've done it before and pissed me off until I realized it.
The only reason I say this is you haven't mentioned it before, and sometimes, it's the simplest of things.

if only it was that easy, ive taken apart both switches and replaced them with new ones
oh and it is toggled on too. im going to have another look at it to night, think im going to end up taking my dash out again and tap into the loom before i goes through the door to see if theres a break.
either way when i find out what it is its going to be an epic write up

bump - did you ever figure it out? My passenger window stopped working last night, halfway up. Driver window still works but neither switch will move the passenger window, tried the window lock switch in both positions too...
