When you guys are discussing temps that are important like this you REALLY NEED to specify C or F. Your egt's are fine, if they start getting much over 1400F let us know.
In addition this is an egt gauge not a wideband. If its reading hot that doesnt always mean your lean. This is why you need to tune with a wideband and just double check it with a egt. You need to tune a/f with the wideband then when its in a safe zone they use the egt for thier timing.

EGT's are supposed to be ~700-~720 celcius at WOT. The temps actually drop a little @ WOT, so cruising in 5th gear they may approach 700.
I have my warning light @ 740 and have not hit it yet. Not sure on the sensor location. Steve Kan did the install and the tuning.

Yellow Dragon is no more
And your post once again brings us to another problem ... location. Let me guess your EGT is in the downpipe? You can't say 700-750C without saying where! Mine is in the manifold and I see 950C all the time.

i have an autometer egt, and i placed it about 2 inches from where the down pipe meets the turbo manifold (near the O2 sensor) that is what autometer suggested. So if i am at 800 to 1000 degrees fahrenheit at idle (depending how hard i am running it) i am ok? And if i get to red line and I see 1400 or higher then i should worry? Also my mods are a cat back and down pipe.

I think it would be ideal to do this mod to a car that's running well. That way you can check your ideal temperatures for idle and redline, etc. and then compare in the future if there seems to be a problem with your temperatures.

the car seems to be running well, it boosts fine and no hesitation ever, just has a funny start up every now and then but once warmed up it is all good.
