Unhappy EGI Short

Firstly, yes I have read all the other threads on this. I believe I've diagnosed where the issue is. I *believe* I have a short, as the EGI fuse pops every time I attempt to start the car (It will sputter, and the fuse will go)

I'm trying to diagnose a short on my EGI 30A Fuse. I'm thinking it may be my alternator, but wanted to confirm if I'm right on this. I've looked at the wiring diagrams and am not sure if I'm missing/misreading something. When putting a multimeter to my EGI 30A Prongs, I get 12v positive on the left, and 12v on the right (When I turn the ignition to ON, the right side goes to 0v, in the OFF position, it receives 12V)

I've narrowed the two-way 12V down to the Alternator, but I'm unsure if this is normal. I have read online that EGI white/green to the Alternator should be supplying 12v, but I had assumed that 12v goes from the battery, through the 30A fuse, and into the alternator.
What I have is that, but I also have 12v on the Alternator coming into the EGI fuse, so I have 12V both ways.

From my understanding, all the fuses connect to the Battery on the left (And when looking at my multimeter, they all have 12V from the left) However, my EGI fuse has 12V both ways, receiving 12V from both the battery AND the alternator (When it is connected to the battery via the main positive connection)

For extra context, my alternator connector broke off, so it was repaired by a mechanic as I couldn't source a connector at the time. He connected the white/green connector to the top/upper prong on the Alternator, and the black/white wire to the bottom/lower prong on the alternator. From what I see on the wiring diagram and on the forums, this is the correct configuration, so I'm thinking my alternator went bad?

I'm waiting for more fuses to come in so I can actually test turning it on with the alternator disconnected, but figured I'd ask in here in case anyone happens to know this stuff off the top of their head. Thanks in advance. This forum has always been a life saver for me bringing a car older than me to life.

Edit: Found a final 30A fuse in my basement parts box, started the car with the alternator completely unplugged, so that IS the issue. Now if anyone can confirm if the top prong should have power and if the EGI wire is supposed to go to that. Love you, gamers.
