ECU electrical connections

I cannot remeber how a few connections go around the ECU area, I included a few pictures and hopefully you can be of some help. Also there are two grounds, I know the engine harness ground attaches to the ecu on a stud, but there is a second ground that I have no idea where it goes. The there is a control box, which I cannot find where that mounts to, lastly there are two white connectors, do they just loop into one another? Or get plugged else where? I usually take pictures or label everything but it seems I forgot about the ecu area.

There is also a single black female connector, does that go anywhere or is that a diagnostics connection?

You're having trouble with the fan recall module. The black box is the recall module, and it's harness plugs in between a white and a blue connector in the ECU harness. It also has its own ground wire that grounds to the ECU bracket (just like the stock ground wire).

The black spade connector is the test connector for the fan control module - it's supposed to be disconnected. You ground it to test the fan control module.

The module is supposed to attach to the back of the ECU bracket - there should be a stud or something that it attaches to.

I had connected up last night like in the picture, that is the stud you are speaking of right?

This white connector, does it get looped like in the picture? or does this get plugged in between two other white connectors?

The blue connectors you are speaking of, is like so in the pics, just added wiring inbetween the orgianl harness connections.

Those white connectors shouldn't be looped. What you're doing is unplugging a stock connection and putting this harness in between the stock connection so it can tap into the signals and power it needs. Same goes for the blue connectors.

Thats what I figured, do you happen to know if they plug up by the white connector going out thru the firewall, or if it plugs down by the ecu?

The connector by the firewall. It will only plug in to the right connector - if you try the wrong connector, it won't fit.

Sorry for the stupid question, but is the fan control module black box something that was added for the recall, or was it always there but plugged into something else?
