eccentric shaft removal problem

i'm having problems removing the eccentric shaft, i cant seem to take off the second rotor housing (the one closer to the front of the engine) because the eccentric shaft is keeping it down, i've removed the first rotor housing no problem, but im stuck on the e-shaft is there a technique to taking it off? or am i missing a step?

Umm the housing itself has a larger hole than the span of the E-shaft so im assuming you mean the Central Iron?

If so then yes the trick is to lift the shaft UP a bit while removing the iron, that will alow the plate to sit at an angle and then slip up the shaft!

Look at the service manual if you dont understand, its very informative

Np, just remember when your reassembling it not to lift it up to high or it will come outta line with the front rotor (potentially)

get someone to help you when you are messing with the e-shaft, it reduces the chance of something going wrong.

Luckily when you reaseemble if you somehow manage to get the rotors out of clock, when you attemp to rotate it, it will bind up pretty fast A good indicator of misassembly.

Oh. do NOT use petroleum jelly on the O-rings UNLESS you are assembling right away. As they will EXPANT about 1-1.5" if you leave them in the jelly for a hour or more. I learned this the hard way lol!

I used petroleum jelly, it actually worked VERY well, but i lost one seal due to my lack of through reading prior to!

Used it on the corner seals too to keep em in place.

I prefer crisco for the coolant seals. it's very easy to clean up and you don't have the risk of swelling.
