Do a search, there's plenty of info on this. With that said, it's on there with about 300ft-lb plus loctite. A really good impact wrench should get it off. If you don't have access to that, then a big-*** cheater pipe (I usually use a ~4 ft pipe slipped over the end of a big breaker bar) and a little heat from a torch should do the trick.

At atkins they couldn't even break the bolt lose with there impact wrench, i gave up trying to do it my self, and asked them to take it off.

it took them 3 guys and heat with a huge breaker bar.

What type of compressor, gallons + lbs? Plus the impact wrench may not have been lubed or could have been worn. I see it impossible as some impact wrenches have way over 350lbs of torque. w/e they should get better equipment i guess.

I tried an electric impact gun rated at 300lbs, and got nothing.

My impact wrench, even when cranked to around near 110psi, didn't remove the e-shaft bolt on any of my engines. Thats an Ingersol-Rand gun too with 500lbs of torque. A guy helped me out with two of my other engines with his 1000lbs torque gun.

On one really stubborn engine, even that wasn't enough. I took it to a gas station and those guys had a 3/4 drive 1300lbs torque impact wrench and it spun it right off after 3 hits!!

2" 3/16 is the size socket you need.... and it zings right off with an impact there is a special mazda tool that bolts to the back of the motor to keep the counter weight from spinning but its not needed with an impact.... to get the front one off you have to heat the bolt up ... if im not mistaken it torqued to about 290ft.lbs. i heated mine up with some a-cet-a-lean torches.

No... if you're going to post information, at least check to make sure it's accurate. The correct size is 2 1/8" (54mm).

I thought we were talking about the e-shaft bolt? Not the flywheel nut...

Correct, but mitchiemitch1 decided to post wrong info pertaining to the fly nut. So I figured I would make a simple correction to his post

For future reference

I brace a breaker bar in the engine compartment attached to that bolt and just kick the starter over real quick. Breaks it free every time.
