B&M Short Shifter Stalk Height

I am looking into purchasing a B&M short shifter for my 7. Question for anyone who has bought and installed theirs.
Does the shift **** sit higher with the B&M short shifter installed than it does with the stock shifter installed. I have seen a picute of a B&M installed and it looks as if it sits higher than stock.

No kidding. I was hoping to get shorter shifts and help out with the 2nd to 3rd shifts. What specifically do you not like? I have read about the added noise and vibratiojn issues, but I have not read anything about the stock shifter being preferred.

i had a b&m and it sucked (IMO)..sure the throws were shorten but the feel and comfort of a stock shifter is better than b&m..

I have the B&M unit and I love it. Compared to the B&M shifter, the stock shifter is very "soft". The B&M unit "clicks" into gears, some may not like that. Personally, I think the B&M is much more accurate than the OE unit.

I love my B&M short shifter.. was my very 1st mod. Here are images from my old thread..

B&M is around 1mm smaller, in terms of height once installed, than the stock..

Nice! Every time I do some work to the 7 I forget to stop and take pics. I guess I am always in a hurry to get the job done and back to tearin' the roads up. Thank goodness for other forum members who have a library of pics of their projects. I'll remeber next time.
