e-check pass?

Currently its that time of the year for me to do a e-check and with my current mods iam fealing preety sure it wont pass. My current mods are Intake, Downpipe, midpipe, exhaust, non-seq turbos, rx7store stage 2 motor, powerfc, walbro fuel pump, and all emisions removed and block off plates installed wherever possible. Rx7store did the tuning on it to if that helps. Iam wondering if I were to just put the stock main cat back on if it will pass emisions or not. Any sudgestions on what I should do for my e-check problem what be great.

With all emisions removed and block off plates installed your only hope is to put the stock pre-cat and main cat back on and try to pass

You are better off finding a place that you can bribe for a pass.

You don't need the pre-cat, but you will need a main cat AND an air pump hooked up and running to the cat. You may need other items depending on the laws you have to meet.

well on my car the stock plumbing for the air pump from the acv to the main cat is definetely gone and screwed . Is there any type of electrical airpump I could use and rig to go to the stock main cat?? That and they dont check anything around here. All it needs is a cat, a working gas cap, and a clean sniff on the dyno and your golden.

are you in lorain county???

I had to get a waiver for my FC...basically says that some mechanic worked on the car and attempted to fix the problem emissions-wise.. bs... I smogged my FD when it was completely stock so ive got a while to go before I need to worry about that

Typically, the e-check stations are run by some 17 year old making like 7 bucks an hour, so mr. ben franklin should let you slide on e-checks, but you didnt hear that here

I just went to emissions today and failed miserably. When I bought my car two years ago, I was only able to pass after installing a new high flow cat and hooking up my smog pump. I also used my Power FC to lean out my injectors ever so slightly, which I didn't really like. Today they told me that I was running really rich, which I already knew. I was just hoping I could squeak by. I may end up having to buy another new cat in order to pass as the turbos are hard on catalytic convertors due to the high exhaust temps.

I just took my new to me single turbo FD to echeck with an airpump and a high flow cat and it passed. I pegged the limit on NO at 73ppm, but I had plenty of room on the other two. I think a stock cat and an airpump will go a long way to help you pass. As far as an electric air pump, I have heard of people using the one from I believe a C4 or C5 Vette. Also have been told to use a little denatured alcohol in the tank.

Good Luck,
Dennis
