E-Brake Issues on 3rd gen?

My e-brake light is very sensitive. If I the ebrake is tapped slightly the light will go off. I always had a problem when flooring my car having the light pop up but I would just slam the brake down and it would go away. Resently when I floor the car or give it any hard tap on the gas the hand brake light comes on and just stays. I dont know if its just the light or the ebrake is actually somehow locking. Please help!

This might sound weird, but top off your brake fluid and see if that fixes your problem:

Two things can trip the brake light: the brake fluid level sensor in the reservoir of the master cylinder or the contact switch under the e-brake lever. Top up the brake fluid first. If the light is still coming on adjust the switch under the e-brake.

Your e-brake is not locking if the handle is down.

I have the same problem and always figured it was the e brake sensor. I will have to check the brake fluid when I get home.

Thanks,

I had the same problem, topped off my brake fluid and the light hasn't come on since. It used to come on during hard acceleration.
