drooping rear-view mirror
drooping rear-view mirror
Anyone have a fix, other than purchase a new or used one ?
Also, is there a way to get a racing "wink" rear-view mirror and still use the visors, or do I have to go with just a longer center mirror (replacement or clip-on) ?
Thanks,
:-) neil

On my car one of the tiny screws that hold the mounting plate to the windshield was missing. Replacing that, and tightening the screw that mounts the mirror to that plate fixed everything. No more wobble, or actually falling off in my case...
Neil... The drooping mirror problem is really pretty common on FD's. There is no solution other than getting another mirror. I replaced mine years ago with a BMW Z8 rear view mirror. You can buy any rear view mirror that you like. The Mazda quality on that piece is... not good.

I'd be very interested to know if other rear view mirrors will mount on the stock mount but positioned higher on the glass. Being a tall guy the stock mirror blocks too much of the windshield for my tastes (and safety).

This is what I replaced my dropping mirror with, cheaper then a stock one, but not as cheap as junk yard stuff.
At least I now have auto dimming
, helps when trucks are driving behind you.
It is also double ball jointed, so I can move it higher (but then it moves the mirror closer) or angle it down/up with no issues. Really nice upgrade for me.
