Angry Driver side door handle problem...

I went to open my door today and the stupid thing snapped so now just the left side of the latch is holding the handle on and it wont open the door. Anyone know how much this will cost to fix as I assume that I must buy an entire door handle unit. Anyone got one they'll sell for cheap or any other idea's for quick temporary fixes?

I tried all the little cheap quick fixes on the door until the handle fully broke. My advice is just to buy the new handle and be done with it.

The handle retails for $230 from the deal. Talk to Ray:

Talk to Ray Crowe

He'll get it to you for around $140.

I assume you are talking about your exterior door handle. In that case it is easy to replace.

-snap off the plastic piece inside the door
-undo the two nuts holding it in place
-*carefully* detach the two rods behind it that actually open the door

That's it, install is the reverse of course.

It's pretty much as mjw said. You also have to move the lock from your current handle to the new one. It's not a big deal.

Same thing happened to me. But there was no way i was gonna pay the dealer that much. I just lived with it (opening passenger door, first, to get in, ) till a used one came up for sale. As for the installation, I am an idiot. And I still got it done, correctly. I think I may have found a write-up on it on either the rob robinette or scuderiani site. Goodluck man.

I assume you mean the "driver's side door handle", not the entire door is falling off.

If the handle is broken, I would suggest replacing it. Nothing is more embarrashing than driving a nice sports car which you can't get into unless you get in on the passenger side....

As for Dragueur, I believe that avatar picture is his girlfriend.

yeah it's easy to install! i say you just buy a new one because if it snapped. It probably snapped because it turned brittle
