The Dreaded Boost problems.....

Hiya,

Just finished doing a vac hose replacement.....

managed it ok - took a while but i got there in the end.

Only snag is I still have a boost problem!

Boost pattern goes

0.65kg (9.2psi)

0.5kg (7.1psi)

then it holds the 0.5kg all the way to redline.

Any suggesions on what specifically could be?

In hind sight the only things I can think of that I might have done was

1. the 2 restrictor pills in the hoses to the turbos didn't fit as snug into my new hoses as well as they did in the old ones. Could this be a cause of the low boost?

2. Under the intake plenum there's a turbo control solenoid.... with an adjustment wheel on it (very distinctive as it has a mitsubishi symbol on the adjusting ****) and I may have turned this.

Anything else I should check?

What has everyone ekse found to be wrong in these instances?

Your secondary is not coming online.

Try these 2 links:

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/boost_problems.html - follow the procedures by Steve Wynveen (Sat 5 Sept 1999) and Wael El-Dasher (Sun, 12 Dec 1999). They're about halfway down the page.

Swap your two plugs for the silenodes in front of your UIM. The ones that sit side by side. When I did my hose job I got these backwards and it cause the same boost pattern.
