Question dp question

What size of socket do I need to take off the nuts from the studs (top end by the turbos) Is it 14mm? And what should I use to help loosen them ? (wd-40)?

i cant rember for sure but i believe it was 14mm, as for the lube, goto the local auto store and buy something called liquid wrench its seems to work the best, its what i used and they came out, and others with good results just put it on and let it sit for a while and do its magic, scott

I must add, you need to use liquid wrench! i didn't and the stud broke off, and the shop says i need to take out the turbo to get it out! but anyhow, i'm only using 3 studs now.

It is 14mm unless there is a replaced bolt. I just did the DP replacement last weekend and the one bolt I couldn't see ended up being a 19mm...that was a surprise. It also made it really difficult since I couldn't see it to see if the driver fit on it!
And Yes, liquid wrench helps a lot.
Something else that helps...
if you can't get the liquid wrench to squirt onto the lower bolts...get a small piece (12 inches or so) of rubber hose and push it over the end of the liquid wrench bottle. That way you can point the hose where you want it, and squeeze the L.W. from a different location.
This helped because I couldn't fit the bottle in there, and therefore I couldn't turn it upside down to squirt on the bolts.

Its 14mm but if you can find it where you live get P.B. Blaster it is way better than liquid wrench. This is not personal preference either I've used both and it always out performs liquid wrench, and take your time it's the heat generated by the friction that will snap the bolt more than the actual force applied.

Gaskets?

What gaskets have you guys been using? I am assuming that you are not reusing the old ones. Isn't the opening on a 3" DP larger than stock and therefore requires a gasket that is different from stock anyway?
