Any one out there have any experience with the Megan racing DP & MP combo.
Or the ones for sale on ebay (some are less then $150).

I would stay way from the ebay ones. They are a gamble. Some line up right others don't. Putting a DP on is a PITA and is something I would want to do them come to realize that you are going to need to do some hacking to making it fit, if you even can do that. I would go for a known good fitment dp for a FD.

My first recommendation would be the Bonez products:

http://rx7.com/store/rx7/fdexhaust.html

However, they are pricey for some but fitment is always good. The next choice would be:

I would personally be hesitant to put the MP on just yet unless you know FOR A FACT that your setup can handle it, or unless you have this strange urge to rebuild.

But I'm still a newb so I don't really know much...

If you just want a DP I can sell you my extra M2 DP (got it after I bought my 7 last year, and before I realized that that it already had a DP on... now it's just chillin on a shelf)

I noticed this is your first post. Are you aware that you need to have some sort of boost control once you replace the maincat with a midpipe?

Been a owner of a 7 for 8 years now. The car need a rebuild and like to finally upgrade the DP and MP along with Power FC, radiator, AST,Vacuum lines, and.

I like the Bonez pipes, but they are too pricey (almost $600).
The combo at rx7store.net looks good, anyone have any experience with them?

Some people have had problems with the rx7store having extended, unexpected shipping delays and recieving parts in less than usable form. They credit this to the fact that they drop ship most parts that they sell and don't keep them in stock.

Rotary Performance, RX7.com, stocks everything they sell. That's the reason their prices are higher. However, Ari(owner of RP) is a dream to work with and everything I've bought from him has shown up perfect withen a week.

I never had any problem with the RX7 Store. I usually get everything I ordered in time if not before. The last time I order from the RX-7 sotre was a long time ago (2005).

I had a RX7 Store dp in my second FD and it was fine.

Don't forget to get the wastegate ported.

I think if you buy the combo the fitment issues should be minimal, but if you want to be extra sure, just buy a brand-name part used. Plenty of good parts out there.

I usually stock the DP/MP combo because we sell a lot of them. We have never had any fitment issues with them. The parts we stock are based off popularity. No reason to stock stuff that sells once a year. Its a waste of capital and space.

RHDjapan.com

I would go with HKS downpipe with a bonez midpipe.
Now if your going to swap the down and mid your probably going to need to replace the tailpipe cause both that are recommended increase from 2" to now 3".
My setup is HKS->Bonez->RB Dual Tip. Not to loud but moves alot more air it will probably set you back 1K or a little more but definately worth it.

www.RHDjapan.com is a site that I highly recommend. I've bought multiple things from them and there on point. There located in Japan near the Mazda factory and the prices are unbeatable. Best deal I received from them was Power FC with Commander or 690.00----Rotor housing for 430.00 and manyh other hard to find 99 stock OEM items (99 OEM rebar, 99 OEM brake ducts, 99 OEM oil cooler ducts) and everything is in stock usually received through EMS within 9 days. Check it out and enjoy......

I had HKS in my 3rd FD. It was pretty easy to install and to the untrained eye it looks stock. the only down fall is that is not a true 3".

Only reason to buy an HKS downpipe is if your car is RHD other than that its a huge waste of money. A midpipe is nothing but a 3 inch straight pipe. No need to over spend on one when they all do the samething.

HKS down works fine with my bonez combination. Have a 95. I believe my FD was the 3rd to last made for the US with VIN 423 of 426, original owner since late 95.
The only issue was with the HKS fitting flush on my brand new 99 turbos from rotary performance. Dave and Kim over at KDR set me up very very proper.

HKS Downpipes have a tendency to rust over time. Pettit Racing also makes a good midpipe....http://pettitracing.com/rx7/index_exhaust.htm

I picked up an HKS DP on this forum for $100. Had it ceramic coated (to stop the rusties) for $60. Good to 1700 degrees now. Looks sweet too. Now all I need to do is get it put on, but looking for a good deal on a radiator first.
