Double Throttle Control

Hi

Can any one please point out where my Double Throttle Control

is located at??? Because they say if the double throttle control is not operating correctly then it could be my answer to why I'm not getting boost at 4 k to 5k.??
I did alot of research and still couldn't find it??

Sorry for being such a newbie..

Its attached to the rear of the manifold.
Remove the throttle body and you will be looking at it.

not sure how Newb you are but..
If your not getting boost during that time and your running Stock Seq. setup, than its because of the Transition of the 2ndary turbo coming on line.

DTC (double throttel control) actuator is right behind the extension manifold (often referred to as "upper intake manifold") near the firewall. If you disconnect the vacuum hose connected to the DTC actuator, you will disable your DTC. With a cold engine, the DTC limits boost production to 5 psi. If you make >5 psi boost with the DTC actuator hose disconnected when the engine is warm, your DTC is the problem. If you're not making boost with a warm motor, and disabled DTC, then you have other boost control issues.

It is inside and to the side of the UIM itself.

Look on the firewall side of the UIM and you'll see the actuator thing (just before the throttle body) which has a vacuum hose connected to it. You can disconect that hose from the actuator (because it is normaly open without vacuum) and plug (the hose) it with a screw.

If that solves the problem then it's prolly a bad silinoid or the actuator (the diaphram thing that turns the lever under vacuum to close the double throuttle).

You can drive without it connected as long as you minimize boost untill fully warm (about 10-15 from cold).

Off-topic.

Rx7 Forum informal nomenclature-to-factory manual glossary:

UIM, upper intake manifold, is the extension manifold.

LIM, lower intake manifold, is the intake manifold.

Nowhere in the Mazda Rx-7 1993 Rx7 Workshop Manual will you find the terms, LIM and UIM
