Question Door question

Hahah. soooo.... I've only driven one FD in my life. Mine. And my doors are soooooo heavy. And some times when I try to close it, it locks half way. Am I the only one? lol

If you mean the door closes half way, then yes that is normal for all FD's.

For some reason, its only the driver side that does it. It has to do with the interior being one big pocket.

What i do is i crack my window like a 1/2 inch before i get out of the car. Luckily for me, i have a remote that will close the windows for me with a touch of a button.

So when i get out, i dont have to really close the door hard because my window is open a bit. I just close it normal, hit the button on the remote and im done.

The new cars now do that automatically when the key is out of the ignition (example: 350z). Then when you close the door, it closes the window automatically.

When I was installing a short shifter I left a piece of light towel over the empty shifter hole and closed the door. When I opened it again the towel was shot into the air by the in rushing air.

These cars are practically airtight.

Doors are not heavy, actually light. It's the tight seal that makes them hard to close. Like the man pointed out.

there are a bunch of fixes for this. i uses quiet coat.. forgot what forum member started using it but he swore by it... i def notice a a reduction in noise when i slam my door now.. its a nice solid thump

yeah..maybe you guys are right... come to think of it it does feel more like air restriction rather then heavy doors... i probably also need to lube my hinges....
