Does anyone know if this black plastic latch cover part exists or if anyone makes them?

I thought about trying one from a different Mazda but have no idea what would work.

I want to cover the ugly bulky silver latches.

 

Yes, China go to ALIEXPRESS web site and type in Mazda.
Plastic or stainless steel.

 

Those are not for the rx7 unfortunately. Do you think the rx7 latch is universal to all mazda?

 

I dont know if the latch is universal. But that photo was taken with the stainless steel latch covers fitted to my rx7 fd3s. from aliexpress and they fit perfectly.

 

The latch is the same on my FD and my wife's 1995 era Ford Probe.
And Probe is the same latch as an MX6 I wrecked from the same era.

So all those cars (MX6, Probe FD) take the same latch.

Also, the Probes have a really nice ignition barrel retaining/finisher ring that is better looking than the FD's nasty stamped metal one. And the Probe's power antenna is the same.
And so is some of the door key barrel stuff, including the little light that lights up the key barrel on the outer door handles. So next time you're near a Probe, grab those parts..

where did you get yours?

 

I got mine on aliexpress like the guy above mentioned.. looks good. I had to Dremel out the lock washer that was on the bolts to make them flush. Looks real nice.

 

I got to say they look not bad...but I'm still unsure if I like it. I need better pictures !! :P

I polished mine at the same time as the door sills. So a bit of shiny when you open the door,that's it.
I think the combination is important.
Specially after doing the door sills.
