Done!! 2-1/2 mo. of work and pics of new engine compartment

I finally got the car back on the road today after 2-1/2 months of work (Due to cash flow). I had some little things that have been bothering me so I decided it was time to put the car up on jack stands and start going through everything.

Here is a list of the things I did in the last 2-1/2 months...
1.) New Koyo radiator and hoses
2.) 10mm Magnacore plug wires and new plugs
3.) Belts
4.) Vacuum lines
5.) Polished UIM, Throttle Body, Y-Pipe, PFS Intercooler, Alternator, and some other things
6.) Repainted Various plastic pieces and alternator stator
7.) New Axxis brake pads
8.) Replaced all o-rings and seals on primary and secondary fuel rails/injectors
9.) Machined a new battery tray out of 6061 t6 aluminum and polished it up
10.) New Optima D51R yellow top battery
11.) New Smog Pump (used)

When I was doing my vacuum lines I noticed that my car was missing one of the restrictor pills completely, and the other one was not even a stock part. It had some home-made brass piece in it with a big gaping hole in it. I ordered the right ones from mazda and my boost pattern went from an 8-5-9 to an 11-9-12. The car runs like a raped ape now! Unfortunetely this change has caused my car to develop some boost creep and boost spikes though. I guess I'll work on that problem next.

It was a lot of work, but it was worth it. I was so excited today when I got to drive it for the first time in months that I had a permagrin on my face all day.

If anyone is interested in purchasing a battery tray like you see in the picture just pm me and I might possibly make a few if I have enough people interested. I'm thinking around $80 ea. unpolished. If you would like it polished I can do that for around another $35.

Looks nice! I have a similar set up without quite all the polishing. You need the duct for the PFS intercooler or you will pull too much engine compartment heat.

I plan to fabricate the duct in a couple of weekends. I have the material for it, (a sheet of .063" 6061 t-6 aluminum) but I haven't had the time to do it yet. The one that was on there will no longer fit due to the Koyo radiator being thicker than the stock.

I had similar problems but after some trimming I got the duct in. It sits about 1inch higher so it needed a bit of tape ducting work at the top.
