DOH! Front sway bar not too healthy.
DOH! Front sway bar not too healthy.
During the installation of a new radiator in my '94 Touring, I noticed that my sway bar connections are really tired (primarily the passenger side).
I haven't really noticed anything unusual, but I bought my FD used, so I might not be a good judge.
Looking through previous posts, I found some on Suspension Tech., Mazdaspeed and Racing Beat...but not much. Only that RB has had a couple cases of breaking under stress.
Shopping around, M2 looks to have a pretty good set up (custom bar to customer's specs + beefy bar mounts). Lead time is 4 weeks right now and I can wait.
Not too sure which way to go. I need something for some auto-x and spirited daily driving. Anyone out there with a couple cents of wisdom?
Also, I didn't take the bar off all the way when I installed the radiator, so I don't know, but how hard is it to install a new sway bar? Doesn't look too bad, but I am not too sure about the end connections.

I have a racing beat front sway bar and just discovered a broken passenger side sway bar mount. I am planning to replace this with a crookedwillow swaybar mount. The crookedwillow mounts are nice because they raise the swaybar about an inch or so. This prevents the swaybar from bottoming out and hitting curbs or something.
Sway bars are very easy to install. Just make sure there is something supporting it while you are taking it off. I was a dumbass and ended up having the thing fall on my head.
