So it's now quite cool out (0 to 10 deg. C). The car is producing much more power. Problem is, the Mich. Pilot MXX3s (Z rated) are becoming very hard at these temps. It's not uncommon for me to spin them across intersections. I have to watch out when turning at intersections, as it's too easy to loop. I think I'm becoming "cop bait". Anyone else notice how much fun these cars become in the colder weather?

Definitely start being smoother with the throttle (think egg under the pedal) and when it start to spin (when going straight), back off as it's not the best for your bushings or diff mounts.

But yea, cool temps are awesome with a turbo car.

They make tons more power when intake temps are cold. When mine was on the dyno a couple weeks ago, I was seeing about a 10hp loss for every 15 degree increase in intake temps! It's crazy how fast it is with cold intake temps though.

I was on the highway coming home from work, car was warm, but intake temps never broke 25C. I had a little fun on an offramp and a light after it. Wow, crazy power...

Yep, I remember back in March when I first installed my intake and SMIC (still running 10 psi though). It was a pretty cold night and that was the first time the car tried its best to go completely sideways on the 1-2 shift....

Yea, right! We get a few weeks of this nice cool weather, then it snows - for like 6 months! Usually we get our first snow last week of October, and it stays and gets added to until the middle of April. Gotta love "global warming" though, as last 5 or 10 years have been much milder. One year it didn't snow until December! The ground really dries up (crunchy) when it does that.

Yesterday we had around 5-8°C. And my Rex spun the rear wheels under acceleration (when overtaking) in 3rd gear around the transition. Wicked !

Today I'm going on a track day. Some hotlapping coming up. I really hope the tires will stick. With the addidtional horsepower it will be interesting
