I have been reading many threads about the parallel conversion for the stock twins. I was wondering if it would be worth while to fabricate a new manifold and run an external wastgate for the stock twins. From what I understand the stock exhaust manifold is a restriction at higher boost levals (above 15 psi). Maybe this is not possible, or maybe some one has done this before. Any thoughts would be great. One other question; can say a pettit ECU run in parrallel mode saftly (mabey with an AFC to make fine adjustments and a boost controller to adjust boost).

I can't answer your first question, but as to the second one; Yes a Pettit can be run with a non-sequential setup, but only to a max of 15psi. I ran mine like that for 2 years without any incidents.

If you saw everything apart and how little room there really is to do that, you'd realize that it's next to impossible.

If you do go parallel, you could replace the cast iron manifold with a very short tubular version but I don't know if the time it would take to make the flanges and everything would be worth the reward..

Does anyone have some pics of the turbos and manifold readily available?

Just take a look at this diagram:

http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...BigPicture.htm

You'll see, there isn't much room for change.

Your right not much room. That gives me a real good Idea of what controls the shifting from one turbo to both. there still might be some chance to improve for the parallel config. But would not be worth the time, for the improvement it would provide. I still might try somthing but not real soon. does any one whant to donate a set of blown turbos for the cause, I would need the manifold also, I would pay shipping. I would need these for overall dimensions not to rebuild.

Mahjik could you lead me to a couple of good threads on the parallel conversion. ( ones you think are the best)

By the way thanks for that pic.
