Does this serve any purpose?

Please take a look at this i think i stumbled across an answer at one point but just wanted to make sure. Is this needed? if nothing is attached to it anymore?

That was the stupidest things i've ever done..lol..i'm referring to the black brace underneth the AST in that picture...Is it there just to mount the stock ic/intake...or is it for stability of the chasis (sp?) Do i need this!

Its just there to mount stuff of off, its super flimsly and doesn't do anything to stiffen the chaiss, nor does it need to.

There was a thread about this just a week or two ago.

yeah, I remember you asking this question before. Its not needed unless you have a SMIC. Otherwise its not that nessesary(sp?). Cause that's all I know that is mounted to mine.
