Does Denso fuel pump filter sock fit?

I am about to install a Denso fuel pump. It comes with a sock type filter.

I have searched and some old threads seem to imply that this sock will not fit and that the stock sock needs to be reused.

Is this the case? If so, can the stock sock be ordered separately?

TIA

You can buy a new one from Airtex Model 132 that will fit the Denso pump for $15. check this post:

Sorry - I should have been clearer.

My pump came with a new sock filter but I read on an old thread that it will not fit. I can dig in there to find out but I'd rather have a new filter ready if I need it.

My old filter was in pretty good shape when I replaced my pump. It didn't come with a new filter. Most likely you won't have to replace the "sock".

Great write-up. Did not find on recent searches for some reason.

The new units seems to come with the socks. I will dig in this weekend and see what happens.
